Power Interruptions Hit Komani

Parts of Komani have been left without electricity following two separate incidents affecting substations in the area.

CBD Affected
Businesses near the CHDM Disaster Management offices were disconnected after a vehicle collided with and severely damaged a mini substation. The Enoch Mgijima Local Municipality (EMLM) has confirmed that a process to acquire a replacement mini substation has already begun.

Top Town Outage
In a separate incident, the Buxton substation was targeted in the early hours of the morning when outgoing copper cables were cut and stolen. The damage has left portions of Top Town without supply. According to EMLM, repairs will be attended to tomorrow.

The Municipality has urged patience from affected businesses and residents as work is underway to restore power and secure infrastructure.
