Suspected Foul Play and Theft at Buxton Substation

The Enoch Mgijima Local Municipality (EMLM) has confirmed a suspected incident of foul play and theft at the Buxton substation.

Ward 10 Councillor Tokkie Deysel has issued a call to action, requesting assistance from surrounding residents and security companies in the area. Anyone who may be in possession of CCTV footage of suspicious activity near the substation is urged to come forward to aid in the apprehension of those involved.

Community members with any additional information are also encouraged to assist in the matter.

A local resident voiced frustration, saying: “We need SAPS to patrol our streets at night — then this won’t happen.”
