Vehicle Hits Power Pole in Grey Street Crash

KOMANI – Emergency services were called out early Tuesday morning following a motor vehicle accident in Grey Street that left electrical cables hanging across the road.

According to information received, the crash occurred shortly after 03:00 on 3 March 2026. A vehicle reportedly collided with a lamp pole or the road leading towards KSM, causing the pole to be struck and power lines to fall into the roadway.

Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene, with calls made for additional assistance from municipal teams due to the hazardous electrical cables lying in the street. Traffic officials were also requested to assist with controlling motorists in the area.

Cables Hanging in the Road

The situation was described as dangerous, with live or potentially live electrical cables reported to be hanging or lying across the roadway. Motorists travelling on that road were urged to proceed with extreme caution while authorities worked to secure the area.

Municipal electrical teams were requested to attend to the damaged infrastructure and ensure the scene was made safe.

An ambulance was requested for at least one injured person at the scene. At the time of publication, the extent of injuries had not been officially confirmed.
