Two Truck Trailers Overturn, Blocking N6 Near Penhoek Pass
Traffic on the N6 near the bottom of Penhoek Pass, approximately 60 kilometres outside Komani, has been severely disrupted after two truck and trailers overturned on the roadway, blocking the route.
Reports from the scene suggest two trucks positioned across the road with their trailers overturned, causing a full obstruction of the roadway.
One of the trucks is carrying large plastic water tanks, which remain secured on the overturned trailer. The vehicles appear to be blocking the N6, preventing normal traffic flow through the area.
The incident occurred on the N6 between Komani and Jamestown, a major freight route used by trucks transporting goods through the Eastern Cape.
Traffic Officials Requested to Attend
Motorists travelling along the route alerted authorities to the situation early Friday morning. Traffic officials from the Chris Hani District have been requested to attend the scene to assist with managing traffic and clearing the obstruction.
The overturned vehicles have blocked the road in the area, resulting in delays for motorists travelling through Penhoek Pass.
Motorists Urged to Approach With Caution
Drivers travelling on the N6 between Komani and Jamestown are advised to approach the area with caution and expect traffic disruptions until authorities arrive and the road is cleared.
At this stage, the cause of the incident has not yet been confirmed, and it is not yet clear whether there were any injuries.
