R61 crash near Cofimvaba leaves two injured

Two people were injured in a crash involving a Toyota Quantum and a Toyota Corolla sedan on the R61 near the Qutsa junction outside Cofimvaba on Tuesday morning.

Emergency medical services reported that the two vehicles were involved in a collision, with five people recorded as casualties at the scene.

Two patients were transported to Cofimvaba Hospital for further medical treatment following the crash.

EMS personnel assessed those involved at the scene and no fatalities were reported.

There were also no reports of anyone being trapped inside either of the vehicles following the collision.

Emergency medical services attended the scene with two ambulances, while members of the South African Police Service were also present.

The crash happened along the R61 at the Qutsa junction, an area used by motorists travelling in and around Cofimvaba.

The exact circumstances surrounding the collision, including what led to the two vehicles colliding, have not been confirmed at this stage.
