Enoch Mgijima residents invited to comment on Financial Recovery Plan.
Residents, businesses and organisations in Enoch Mgijima Local Municipality have until Friday, 16 October 2026, at 16:00 to comment on the municipality’s draft revised Financial Recovery Plan.
The municipality has been under national government intervention since April 2022, in terms of Section 139(7) of the Constitution.
National Treasury’s Municipal Financial Recovery Service began revising the plan in June 2025 to address the municipality’s financial challenges, improve service delivery and restore financial stability.
The draft plan is now available for public comment before it is finalised.
Residents can view the plan free of charge at the Municipal Manager’s Office, 08 Owen Street in Komani, municipal satellite offices, public libraries or on the municipality’s website under the documents section.
Written comments can be submitted to:
- Municipality: tmnyande@enochmgijima.gov.za
- National Treasury: mfrs@treasury.gov.za
Comments may also be hand-delivered to the Municipal Manager’s Office in Komani.
Submissions must include the sender’s name, contact details and the section of the plan being addressed.
Residents who need assistance with written submissions can approach the Municipal Manager’s Office.
According to the public notice, all comments received will be considered before the revised plan is finalised.
