Hangklip Interact Joins Jackson’s Go Green Drive
KOMANI – October 18, 2025: The spirit of environmental care was alive and thriving this past weekend as Hangklip High School’s Interact Club proudly joined the Jackson’s Go Green Campaign, an initiative dedicated to keeping Komani clean, green, and beautiful.
Community Unites for a Cleaner Town
The event took place on Saturday, 18 October, with learners, teachers, and community members working side by side to collect litter, tidy public areas, and raise awareness about environmental responsibility.
The Go Green Campaign was led by Mr. Mark Wilson, whose passion for sustainability has inspired multiple clean-up drives throughout Komani. His leadership continues to bring local residents, schools, and businesses together to take action against pollution and neglect.
Youth Leadership in Action
Hangklip’s participation was coordinated by Mr. Chad Naidoo, who expressed pride in the learners’ enthusiasm and commitment.
Throughout the morning, the Interact volunteers collected waste, sorted recyclables, and engaged community members on how small habits can reduce environmental harm. The effort drew praise from residents who appreciated seeing young people take an active role in keeping their town clean.
Hangklip Interact’s Ongoing Commitment
The Hangklip Interact Club has long been recognized for its dedication to community service. From charity events to school outreach projects, the club consistently encourages leadership through service.
For the learners, participating in the Go Green Campaign aligned perfectly with their mission. Many expressed that the experience motivated them to plan smaller, ongoing clean-up projects around Komani.
“It’s encouraging to see our young people leading from the front,” said one local resident who watched the group in action. “They’re setting a wonderful example for others to follow.”
A Message of Gratitude and Hope
At the end of the campaign, the group gathered for a final reflection and words of thanks. “Baie dankie vir die wonderlike inisiatief, Jacksons! Volgende jaar maak ons weer so!” the Interact Club shared joyfully, pledging to participate again next year.
The day concluded with smiles, teamwork, and a shared understanding that protecting the environment is a continuous journey — one that requires everyone’s effort.
As the Jackson’s Go Green Campaign continues to grow, it stands as a shining example of how collaboration, education, and youth leadership can transform communities for the better.
