The update provides an overview of projects implemented in various parts of the municipality, including Keiskammahoek, Stutterheim and surrounding rural communities.
Back-to-school support reaches local learners
As part of its social support initiatives, the municipality, in partnership with stakeholders, conducted a Back to School Programme for the 2026 academic year.
The programme included the distribution of school shoes, uniforms and sanitary products to learners in areas such as Mgwali Village, Mlungisi and Toise. The initiative is aimed at supporting learners from disadvantaged households and improving school readiness.

These projects are expected to contribute to improved accessibility and safety in affected areas.
Focus on agriculture and irrigation

Plans are underway to revive a furniture incubator programme in collaboration with national and provincial departments, including the Department of Trade, Industry and Competition and the Small Enterprise Finance Agency (SEFA).
The municipality also hosted a business seminar for the hair and beauty sector in Stutterheim, focusing on compliance, safety standards and business development.
Relief efforts for vulnerable communities
