Residents of Hofmeyr have raised a wide range of service delivery concerns during a recent community meeting organised by the Hofmeyr Community Development Forum.

According to the Forum, the meeting formed part of a “Phakamisa” gathering where community members discussed the challenges facing the town and identified key priorities that they believe require urgent attention.

Among the issues raised were the ongoing water and sanitation crisis, the lack of disaster management vehicle services, an under-resourced public library, and the need for renovations and fencing at local schools.

Residents also highlighted the poor condition of roads, calling for the construction of the Tarkastad road, improved street lighting, and better maintenance and reconstruction of existing streets.

Housing-related concerns also featured prominently, with calls for the demolition of clustered asbestos houses and the construction of decent-quality homes. Community members also raised concerns about title deeds, RDP housing, and the need for electricity infrastructure upgrades.

The Forum said residents present at the meeting endorsed its candidates and expressed their support for the Hofmeyr Community Development Forum.
