The incident reportedly happened while bread was being delivered to a local shop. The impact knocked down the pole and disrupted the electricity supply to nearby homes.

A witness at the scene said a nearby resident was ironing clothes when she felt an electrical shock. She was later informed that the truck had struck the pole. No injuries were reported.

Angry community members gathered at the scene and reportedly prevented the truck from leaving while the matter was being attended to.

The incident has been reported to the Enoch Mgijima Local Municipality. Witnesses said municipal workers were operating close to the area, and residents hoped they would attend to the damaged pole.

However, because the incident happened on a Friday, residents fear they could remain without electricity for the entire weekend or even longer. Those at the scene said they had little hope that repairs would be completed before the weekend.
