WEATHER ALERT: Yellow Level 2 Warning for Severe Thunderstorms Issued for Enoch Mgijima
KOMANI – The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has issued a Yellow Level 2 Warning for severe thunderstorms impacting the Enoch Mgijima Local Municipality and surrounding areas today, Wednesday, 31 December 2025.
Residents in Komani, Molteno, and Tarkastad are urged to exercise caution as the warning is valid from 12:00 PM until 10:59 PM tonight.
According to the weather service, a deep surface trough combined with upper-air perturbations is driving thunderstorm development across the province. These storms bring the potential for strong winds, heavy downpours, and hail.
