UPDATE: Van Coller Primary School to Remain Closed Until Friday
Parents and community members of Van Coller Primary School have resolved that the school will not operate from Wednesday until Friday this week, following a community meeting held on Tuesday.
According to the resolution taken at the meeting, parents are advised not to send their children to school during this period. The decision applies to all learners and was communicated to the school management as well as officials from the Department of Education.
The meeting further resolved that a joint inspection of the school will take place on Sunday, involving parents, school representatives and the Department of Education. The inspection will assess whether the condition of the school has improved sufficiently for learners to safely return.
Parents indicated that school operations will only resume once the inspection confirms that safety and infrastructure concerns have been adequately addressed.
Community members also warned that any learner brought to the school during the closure period will be turned away, as the school is not expected to operate during this time.
This update is intended to inform parents and guardians who were not present at the meeting.
Komani News will continue to monitor developments and provide updates following the scheduled inspection.
