Ikhala TVET College celebrates first-ever clean audit outcome

Ikhala TVET College has achieved its first-ever Clean Audit Outcome, marking a significant milestone after receiving four consecutive unqualified audit opinions in previous years.

The college announced on Friday that the 2025 audit is the first time it has received an unqualified audit opinion with no material findings on performance reporting and compliance with legislation. No material irregularities were identified during the audit process.

A Clean Audit Outcome is awarded when an institution receives an unqualified audit opinion with no material findings on the quality of its financial statements, performance reporting and compliance with applicable legislation.

Council Chairperson Sibongile Mbotshane said the achievement reflects the dedication and professionalism shown across the institution.

“Achieving our first Clean Audit Outcome is a proud milestone for Ikhala TVET College. It reflects the dedication, professionalism and commitment demonstrated across the institution. Council remains committed to supporting sound governance and ensuring that these high standards are maintained,” he said.

The Auditor-General’s report also recognised improvements in the college’s control environment, governance structures and financial management processes, which contributed to the achievement.

Principal Tembelihle Ntlangano described the clean audit as a major milestone for the institution.

“Receiving our first Clean Audit Outcome is a significant achievement for the College. It demonstrates the progress we have made in strengthening our governance and financial management systems. While we celebrate this milestone, we remain committed to continuous improvement and to providing quality education and training that positively impacts the communities we serve,” he said.

Ikhala TVET College serves the Chris Hani and Joe Gqabi district municipalities through seven campuses and two skills centres, offering a range of technical and vocational programmes aimed at preparing students for employment, entrepreneurship and further studies. College management said it remains committed to maintaining the highest standards of governance, accountability and service excellence while developing skilled graduates for South Africa’s economy.
