Komani Half Marathon entries now open for 2026 race

Runners from across the Eastern Cape are invited to lace up their running shoes after the Komani Runners Club officially opened entries for the third edition of the Komani Half Marathon, set to take place on Saturday, 3 October 2026.

The annual race will feature three distances, offering something for both experienced runners and beginners. The 21.1km half marathon starts at 06:00 from Victoria Manor, approximately 1.5km from the finish venue at Dicla Agricultural Farm Grounds. Free transport will be available from Dicla to the half marathon start. The 10km race begins at 06:15, while the 5km race starts at 06:30, with both races starting at the Dicla entrance and finishing at the Dicla Agricultural Farm Grounds.

Entry fees are R280 for the 21.1km (temporary licence: R60), R180 for the 10km (temporary licence: R50) and R60 for the 5km.

The organisers have announced a total prize purse of R65,000, with lucky draw prizes worth more than R7,000 also up for grabs.

The first 500 entrants in the 21.1km and 10km events, including both online and manual entries, will receive a commemorative T-shirt. Medals will be awarded to the first 400 finishers in the 21.1km and 10km races, while the first five junior male and female finishers in the 5km race will also receive medals.

Manual entries close on 2 October 2026 and can be submitted at Dr Jwaqa Surgery (25 Komani Street, next to Nonesi Mall) or Komani Radiology (45 Prince Alfred Street, near Remax).

Online entries close at midnight on 25 September 2026.

Prize giving will take place from 10:30, and organisers say there is ample, secure parking available at the Dicla grounds.
