Two injured after vehicle overturns on R67 near Whittlesea Circle
Two men sustained minor injuries after a white Volkswagen Polo overturned on the R67 near Whittlesea Circle in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Emergency services responded to the scene at around 02:49 on 9 May 2026 following reports of a single-vehicle crash.
According to emergency responders, the vehicle involved was a white VW Polo. The car suffered extensive front-end damage after overturning off the roadway.
EMS officials said the driver was classified as a yellow triage patient, while the passenger was classified green, indicating less serious injuries. Both men were transported by ambulance to Frontier Hospital for further medical treatment and assessment.
Emergency vehicles and response teams were deployed to the scene. SAPS and traffic officials were also expected at the scene.
The cause of the crash has not yet been confirmed.
Motorists travelling along the R67 during the early morning hours were urged to exercise caution as emergency crews worked at the scene.
The accident again highlights ongoing concerns around late-night and early-morning crashes on regional roads, especially during low visibility conditions. Authorities have repeatedly appealed to motorists to reduce speed and remain alert.
The damaged Polo was later removed from the roadside following the emergency response operation.
