EFF Enoch Mgijima Donates Sanitary Towels in Tarkastad
TARKASTAD, EASTERN CAPE – The EFF Enoch Mgijima Sub-Region has donated sanitary towels to learners at Raymond Mhlaba High School in Tarkastad.
The donation was led by Sub-Regional Chairperson Mandilakhe Matsolo and Sub-Regional Secretary Andisiwe Ngonyama.
Focus on Learners’ Dignity
The initiative was aimed at supporting the dignity of young women at the school by helping ensure access to basic menstrual hygiene products.
Access to sanitary towels remains a challenge for some learners, particularly in rural and under-resourced communities. A lack of access can contribute to absenteeism and discomfort during school hours.
The EFF sub-regional leadership expressed appreciation for the welcome received from the school community during the handover.
Supporting Education Through Practical Assistance
The donation forms part of community outreach efforts focused on education and learner support. Providing sanitary towels is widely recognised as one way of helping to create a more inclusive and supportive school environment for girls.
Raymond Mhlaba High School, located in Tarkastad, serves learners from the surrounding community. Initiatives of this nature are often aimed at complementing existing government programmes that seek to address menstrual health and school attendance.
Community-Based Initiative
The EFF Enoch Mgijima Sub-Region indicated that empowering young women through education remains a priority in its community engagements.
