Two Vehicles Involved in Crash on R410 Near Lady Frere

A motor vehicle accident (MVA) was reported on the R410 road towards Lady Frere, approximately 10km outside the Komani, at around 10:00 on Monday morning.

According to initial information received, two vehicles were involved in the collision. No injuries have been reported at this stage.

The circumstances leading up to the crash have not yet been confirmed, and it remains unclear whether any official investigation will follow.

The R410 is a route frequently used by local motorists travelling between Komani and Lady Frere, but sections of the road can present challenges.

Drivers using this stretch are urged to remain alert, particularly due to roaming livestock such as cattle, which are often seen near or on the road. In addition, parts of the route are narrow, with limited safe opportunities for overtaking, increasing the risk of accidents if caution is not exercised.

Motorists travelling in the area are advised to reduce speed, keep a safe following distance, and remain vigilant, especially when approaching bends or areas with reduced visibility.
