Unplanned Water Supply Interruption Hits Westbourne Areas After Major Pipe Burst

Residents in parts of Westbourne are experiencing an unplanned water supply interruption following a major burst pipe caused by a construction company, the Chris Hani District Municipality has confirmed.

The interruption is affecting the following areas:

• Westbourne Park

• Westbourne

• Weshof

According to the municipality, technical teams are currently on site together with the contractor responsible, working to repair the damaged infrastructure and restore water supply as quickly as possible.

The Chris Hani District Municipality has apologised for the inconvenience caused to residents and has assured affected communities that updates will be provided as work progresses.

The notice was issued by Gcobani Mashiyi, Municipal Manager, on behalf of the Chris Hani District Municipality, which reiterated its commitment to service delivery despite the unexpected disruption.
