Burst pipe cuts water supply in parts of Komani
Residents in parts of Komani are facing an unplanned water supply interruption after a burst pipe was reported in Dickerson Street behind Nonesi Mall.
In a public notice issued on 15 April 2026, Chris Hani District Municipality said the interruption was caused by the pipe burst and that the water supply had been temporarily shut off to allow urgent repairs to be carried out.
Urgent repair work under way
The municipality said the shutdown was necessary so that repair work could be done as a matter of urgency.
No estimated time for restoration was given in the notice, but the municipality said residents would be kept updated on the situation.
The interruption is likely to affect households and businesses in the impacted area while repair teams work to fix the damaged pipe.
Municipality apologises
Chris Hani District Municipality apologised for the inconvenience caused by the outage.
Residents who experience problems or need assistance have been advised to contact the municipality’s 24-hour Customer Call Centre on 0800100100.
What residents should know
For now, affected residents are being asked to remain patient while repairs continue. The municipality has indicated that further updates will be shared as the situation develops.
The interruption comes as many residents rely on a stable water supply for household needs, and any prolonged outage could place pressure on daily routines in the affected area.
Komani News will update this story when more information becomes available on the repair progress and the expected return of water supply.
