One Dead, Ten Injured in Gompo City Taxi Crash

A tragic crash in Gompo City has left one person dead and ten others injured after a minibus taxi lost control and overturned between Abbotsford and Nahoon.

According to initial reports, the minibus taxi, identified as a Toyota Siyaya and carrying eleven occupants, lost control before striking a pole and overturning. The impact left one person fatally injured, with emergency services declaring the victim dead at the scene.

The remaining ten occupants, including the driver, sustained injuries and were transported to Frere Hospital for medical treatment.

Emergency services remain on the scene, where recovery operations are still underway. Traffic has been affected, with one lane currently closed to allow officials to safely manage the aftermath of the crash.

Motorists travelling in the area are urged to proceed with caution as delays can be expected.
