MEC Nqatha Visits Mgojo Family After Tragic N6 Crash

Qonce, Eastern Cape – The Eastern Cape MEC for Transport and Community Safety, Xolile Nqatha, will this afternoon pay a compassionate visit to the Mgojo family, who tragically lost five members in a horrific accident on the N6 road between East London and Stutterheim on Sunday, 8 March 2026.

The deceased, all occupants of a VW Polo, were involved in a collision with a bus that left dozens injured, according to reports from the scene. The accident sent shockwaves through the local community and sparked an outpouring of support for the grieving family.

MEC Nqatha will personally convey his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family during his visit. He will be accompanied by high-ranking officials from the Department of Transport and Community Safety, as well as members of the religious fraternity, who will offer spiritual support to the family during this difficult time.

“The loss of five lives in a single accident is devastating,” MEC Nqatha said. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the Mgojo family, and we hope our presence today can provide some comfort in their time of grief.”
