Hazard Alert: Slippery Road Reported on Whittlesea Road

Motorists travelling on Whittlesea Road are urged to proceed with extreme caution following a reported incident involving a suspected oil spillage on the roadway.

According to information received, a motorist travelling in the direction of Whittlesea lost control of their vehicle after it slid from one lane across to the opposite side of the road, narrowly avoiding a serious crash. The incident occurred approximately 3–5 kilometres from Dicla Farms.

The driver described the situation as a near-miss, raising concerns that the road surface may be dangerously slippery due to a possible oil spill or other substance on the road.

The matter has since been reported to road response teams, who are attending the scene to inspect and assess the safety of the roadway.

Motorists are advised to reduce speed, maintain a safe following distance, and avoid sudden braking or sharp steering movements while travelling in the area. Drivers should remain vigilant until the road has been confirmed safe.
