Four Arrested in Lusikisiki Anti-Gun Police Operations

Police in the Eastern Cape have arrested four men in separate incidents during intelligence-driven operations targeting illegal firearms in the OR Tambo District.

According to a statement issued by the South African Police Service (SAPS), members of the Lusikisiki Public Order Policing unit carried out coordinated operations on 18 and 20 March 2026. These operations resulted in the arrest of four male suspects for the unlawful possession of prohibited firearms and ammunition.

Authorities confirmed that the arrests were made in isolated incidents, indicating a broader ongoing effort to clamp down on illegal weapons circulating in communities across the district.
