Water Supply Engine Stolen, Tendergate Left Without Water

Residents in the Tendergate area have been left without water after thieves reportedly stole a water supply engine and vandalised municipal infrastructure overnight.

According to a statement from the Chris Hani District Municipality, the incident occurred during the night, leaving the local water supply system damaged and unable to operate.

Municipal officials said the theft of the engine and vandalism of the system disrupted water supply to the community.

The municipality confirmed that a water supply engine was stolen and parts of the system were vandalised during the incident. As a result, the infrastructure responsible for pumping or supporting water delivery is currently not functioning.

Residents in Tendergate are therefore experiencing water outages while the matter is being addressed.
