Residents in Amberdale, Madeira Park, and Horizon View are once again facing power disruptions as municipal teams work to repair faults in the town’s electrical network.
The Enoch Mgijima Local Municipality confirmed that scanning operations have identified an open circuit in the affected areas. The fault has been exposed, and technicians are conducting further cable tests before repair work, known as cable-jointing, can begin. The testing team is expected to remain on site throughout the process.
These outages are part of a pattern of frequent and prolonged interruptions that have left residents frustrated. Some locals and community observers have expressed concerns about the tender process for companies responsible for repairing the town’s electrical faults, suggesting that the repeated outages raise questions about efficiency and accountability.
Municipal authorities have urged residents to remain patient while repairs continue and assured the community that every effort is being made to restore reliable power as quickly as possible.
