Power Supply Restored in Madeira Park as Repairs Continue in Top Town
The Enoch Mgijima Local Municipality has released an update on the status of electricity supply across Komani, with progress reported in several areas.
In Top Town, technicians remain on site as repair work continues. The municipality confirmed that teams are actively addressing the problem, though no exact time frame for full restoration has been given. Residents are advised to remain patient as efforts are made to resolve the outage.
Meanwhile, in Madeira Park, there is good news. Power supply has been successfully restored, bringing relief to households and businesses that have been affected in recent days. The restoration follows the completion of repair work on the alternative cable connected to the Bridge substation. This has significantly improved the area’s electricity resilience, as Madeira Park now operates with two active feeders.
Municipal officials further announced that plans are already in place for an additional upgrade: a third feeder will be installed next week through the laying of a new cable. This development is expected to enhance reliability and reduce the risk of future outages, ensuring a more stable supply for the community.
The Enoch Mgijima Local Municipality acknowledged the frustration experienced by residents during these interruptions but emphasized that the work being done now will secure long-term improvements to the electricity infrastructure.
“We thank residents for their patience and understanding as we complete these critical repairs and upgrades. Our teams are working around the clock to stabilize and strengthen supply in all affected areas,” the statement read.
As repairs progress, residents of Komani can expect further updates from the municipality regarding completion timelines and additional infrastructure improvements.
