Nkwenkwana Primary School choir heads to Pretoria for national championships

The Nkwenkwana Primary School Chamber Choir from the Engcobo area has received a warm send-off from the Chris Hani East Education District as the talented young singers prepare to represent the Eastern Cape at the National Championships in Pretoria.

The ceremony celebrated the choir’s achievement in reaching the national competition and brought together education officials, educators and community members to wish the learners success ahead of their journey.

Speaking on behalf of the Education Support Services Specialist Office, Onke Ncobo encouraged the choir to represent the district with pride.

“Thank you, Nkwenkwana. Go and return with honour from the nation,” Ncobo said.

District Education Forum representative Cimile Mandila urged the learners to have confidence in their abilities and embrace the talent they have been given.

“It took a small boy to feed 5,000 people. The strength and talent you have is enough. Lento encinci unayo, be proud of it,” he said.

School principal Mbulelo Zingani reminded the choir that success is earned through dedication and perseverance.

“Winning is not an inheritance. You work for it. No one wakes up one morning already possessing success, and it is never something that comes easily. What we are giving you through this journey is something you will carry with you for the rest of your lives,” he said.

The event recognised the learners’ hard work, discipline, dedication and musical excellence while wishing them a safe journey and success at the upcoming national competition.

The Chris Hani East Education District extended its best wishes to the choir as it prepares to showcase its talent and proudly represent the Eastern Cape on the national stage.
