EFF Mourns Councillor Brutally Killed in Limpopo

Komani News – The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) in Limpopo are mourning the tragic death of one of their councillors, Sebolaishe Leso, who was brutally murdered in Ga-Mapetleke village, Mogalakwena.

Dedicated Councillor Lost to Violence

Leso, 34, was allegedly stabbed to death by her 41-year-old partner on Friday, 5 December 2025, in what police are treating as a case of gender-based violence. Emergency services declared her dead on arrival at the scene.

EFF provincial spokesperson Jacob Lebogo described Leso as a dedicated and loyal member of the party. “Fighter Sebolaishe was a committed ground force of our movement who loved the EFF to the end,” Lebogo said. He expressed the party’s deep sadness over yet another life lost to gender-based violence, highlighting the urgent need for stronger action against this national crisis.

Police Investigate Brutal Attack

According to Limpopo police, the suspect confronted Leso while she was walking with a friend. Police spokesman Malesela Ledwaba said the man accused her of infidelity before attacking her. “Preliminary reports indicate that the suspect, driving a maroon Nissan Micra, approached the victim and stabbed her several times with a sharp object before fleeing the scene,” he explained.
