Temporary Power Solution Underway at Madeira Park

Komani, Eastern Cape – Residents of Madeira Park can expect temporary disruption as local authorities work to restore power following a cable outage.

According to the Enoch Mgijima Local Municipality, repair efforts on the damaged cable were delayed due to water at the fault point. As a temporary measure, an overhead line is being constructed from the Amberdale line to the Madeira substation.

The overhead line is scheduled to be connected tomorrow, during which the N6 main road will be partially closed and traffic flow will be controlled. Residents of Amberdale and Horizon View should note that electricity will be temporarily switched off during the operation at 10:00.

The municipality apologises for any inconvenience caused and assures residents that all measures are being taken to restore normal power supply as quickly as possible.
