According to the Chris Hani District Municipality, the issue has been escalated to Eskom for urgent resolution, but the exact restoration time remains uncertain. The Municipality urges residents to use water sparingly until normal supply resumes.

Municipality Calls for Patience and Cooperation

Municipal Manager Gcobani Mashiyi expressed regret for the inconvenience, reassuring residents that technical teams are closely monitoring the situation and will restore services as soon as power is reinstated at the Xonxa water supply system.

“We apologise for any inconvenience this situation may cause,” the Municipality said, encouraging residents to report related issues or get updates through the 24/7 Customer Call Centre at 0800 100 100.
