Residents in Tylden say there are visible signs of progress on the troubled Tylden dirt road project after work previously stalled amid growing frustration and safety concerns.

According to feedback received by Komani News from a local resident on Monday, new contractors appear to have resumed activity on the route, with teams continuing to gather and pile stones and gravel that are expected to be levelled and rolled onto the road surface.

The resident said work had reached the stage where gravel and stones are again being stockpiled in areas where previous contractors had allegedly left the project incomplete.

“Things seem to be progressing on the Tylden dirt,” the resident told Komani News.

The latest developments come weeks after Komani News reported on concerns surrounding the project, including halted work and fears over road safety in the area.

The earlier article, published on 22 April, highlighted concerns from residents who said the condition of the road and uncertainty around the project had become a growing issue for motorists and the surrounding farming community.

Residents now hope the renewed activity signals that the project will finally move forward after months of uncertainty.

Tylden residents have repeatedly raised concerns about the state of the road, particularly following rainfall and heavy vehicle traffic, with some describing sections as difficult and dangerous to navigate.

While it remains unclear which contractor is currently carrying out the work, community members say they are relieved to at least see movement on site again.

The resident who contacted Komani News also thanked the publication for continuing to highlight the issue, saying public attention helped keep pressure on the matter.
