SAPS seeks assistance after cremated remains found in Jeffreys Bay.
The South African Police Service (SAPS) in Jeffreys Bay is appealing to members of the community for assistance in identifying what is believed to be the cremated remains of an unknown deceased person.
The remains were discovered on 17 September 2026 by a member of the public on the beachfront in Jeffreys Bay.
According to SAPS, a wooden box containing a bag of ashes was found on the beachfront. The name “Llwelyn Felix” is inscribed on the box.
Police have taken the items into safekeeping while investigations continue.
SAPS is attempting to trace the family and determine the origin of the remains.
Members of the public who may have information that could assist police in identifying the remains or tracing the family are urged to come forward.
The investigation is continuing.
