Power Outage Hits Nxuba (Cradock) CBD After Underground Cable Fault
Residents and businesses throughout Nxuba (Cradock) central business district have been left without electricity following an underground cable fault.
In a notice issued on social media, Inxuba Yethemba Local Municipality confirmed that several streets throughout the CBD are affected by the outage.
Affected Streets
According to the municipality, the following streets throughout the CBD are currently without power:

Adderley Street

J.A. Calata Street
The municipality said the outage was caused by an underground cable fault and that repair teams are already working throughout the area to restore power.
Repairs Underway
Municipal officials stated that technicians are actively working throughout the CBD to fix the issue, with electricity supply expected to be restored later today.
However, no exact time has been given for when power will return.
Safety Warning to Residents
Residents and business owners throughout the area have been urged to exercise caution while repairs continue.
The municipality warned that electricity may be restored at any time and advised consumers to treat all electrical appliances and infrastructure as live throughout the outage period.
“All plugs must be switched off,” the notice stated.
Apology for Inconvenience
The municipality apologised for the inconvenience caused and thanked residents throughout Nxuba (Cradock) for their patience while repair work continues.
