Parts of Komani Reach Day 13 Without Power as Repairs Continue
ONGOING REPAIRS CONTINUE IN QUEENS DRIVE, GREY STREET, PRINCE ALFRED & EBDEN STREET
Komani has entered Day 13 of extended power interruptions, with key parts of the repair work now reaching their final stages, according to the latest update released by the Enoch Mgijima Local Municipality.
Municipal technicians reported that the digging of the trench affecting Queens Drive, Grey Street, Prince Alfred Street and Ebden Street is nearing completion. The process has required precision work around existing infrastructure and has contributed to prolonged delays in restoring supply.
As part of the final push, traffic flow in Alexander Road and Grey Street will temporarily be stopped to allow the safe digging and laying of the new cable. The municipality cautioned motorists to expect delays and to use alternative routes where possible.

A team is currently on site digging to expose the damaged cable, after which repairs will be carried out. No estimated restoration time has been provided.
RESIDENTS STILL WITHOUT POWER AFTER NEARLY TWO WEEKS
With today marking Day 13 of electricity disruptions, frustration remains high among affected households. The municipality did not provide new restoration timelines, but the latest update suggests that work is now moving into its final practical phases.
The municipality emphasised that teams remain deployed across all affected sites and that updates will continue to be issued as progress is made.
