Premier, Agri EC discuss transport infrastructure challenges
Eastern Cape Premier Oscar Mabuyane on Monday led a provincial government delegation in discussions with Agri EC on transport infrastructure challenges affecting the province’s agricultural sector.
Mabuyane was joined by Transport MEC Xolile Nqatha and Agriculture MEC Nonceba Kontsiwe for the meeting with an Agri EC delegation led by Pieter Cloete.
The engagement focused on transport infrastructure issues that impact agriculture, with discussions centred on challenges facing rural communities and the broader Eastern Cape economy.
According to the provincial government, the meeting forms part of ongoing efforts to work with key stakeholders to improve infrastructure, strengthen agricultural productivity and support sustainable economic growth across the province.
The discussions highlighted the importance of collaboration between government and the agricultural sector in addressing infrastructure constraints that affect farming operations and rural development.
