Two injured after taxi crashes into Eskom pole in Tendergate
Komani, Eastern Cape — Emergency services responded to a single-vehicle crash in Tendergate Village in the early hours of Wednesday morning after a Toyota Quantum collided with an Eskom electricity pole.
According to the report, the crash occurred at approximately 04:30 on 29 April 2026.
Driver trapped
Emergency responders found the driver trapped inside the vehicle following the impact. Rescue efforts were initiated on scene to assist the driver.
Two male patients were transported to Frontier Hospital for medical treatment. No fatalities were reported.
Scene response and resources
Multiple emergency services were deployed to the scene, along with SAPS officers who assisted in securing the area.
Infrastructure impact
The collision with the Eskom pole may have affected local electricity infrastructure, although the extent of any outages or damage has not yet been confirmed.
