Security company cleans damaged Komani Girl Guides building
Watchful Safety & Security has carried out a cleanup at the Girl Guides building in Komani after raising concerns about damage to the property.
In a public post, the company said it contacted the Girl Guides Association after finding that people were occupying the building and that the interior was being damaged. Watchful said it received the association’s permission to remove the occupants over the weekend and cleaned as much of the inside as it could.
“The damage inside is truly heartbreaking,” the company said.
According to Watchful, the building has served as the local Girl Guides headquarters since 1929. The company said its kitchen and ablution facilities were sponsored by the Girl Guides of the Netherlands in 2004.
The extent of the damage and any plans to repair or reopen the building have not yet been confirmed by the Girl Guides Association.
