Power Update: NEC Delivery Delayed, Midnight Collection Planned
The Enoch Mgijima Local Municipality has issued a fresh update on ongoing electricity outages affecting several parts of Komani.
Western Substation
According to the municipality, there has been a delay in the delivery of the Neutral Earth Compensator (NEC) required at the Western Substation.
The delay is attributed to transport challenges experienced by the supplier.
To fast-track the process, the municipality has arranged its own vehicle to collect the unit. The NEC is expected to arrive at midnight, with installation scheduled for tomorrow morning.
The restoration of power to areas supplied by the Western Substation depends on the installation of this component.
Blue Rise and Central
The municipality confirmed that a cable fault affecting Blue Rise and Central is currently being repaired. Technicians are on site attending to the issue.
Portion of Komani Park
Residents in a portion of Komani Park have seen improvement. The fault at Doorn Place was detected and repaired, and power supply was restored yesterday.
The municipality has apologised for the inconvenience caused and indicated that further updates will be shared as progress continues.
Komani News will continue to monitor developments and provide verified information as it becomes available.
