New Rest resident calls for urgent cable repair

A New Rest resident has called on Enoch Mgijima Local Municipality to urgently repair an electrical cable that has reportedly been hanging low inside a yard since 30 June.

The resident said the cable runs from a pole outside the property and has remained a concern for more than a month.

According to the complaint, Technical Services previously attended the site and carried out work, but the cable dropped again a few days later.

The resident says further requests for the matter to be repaired have not yet resulted in a permanent solution.

There are fears that the low-hanging cable could pose a danger to people and animals in the area.

Komani News has sent questions to Enoch Mgijima Local Municipality about the reported fault, including when it will be repaired and whether any immediate safety measures will be taken.
