Enoch Mgijima Municipality Mourns Senior Director Khulile Maceba

The Enoch Mgijima Local Municipality has announced the passing of Mr Khulile Maceba, the municipality’s Director of Integrated Planning and Economic Development.

The official announcement was made on Tuesday, 23 June 2026, during a gathering of councillors, management and staff at the Chris Hani District Municipality Council Chamber.

According to the municipality, Maceba passed away on Saturday, 20 June 2026, following a short illness.

During the gathering, Executive Mayor Madoda Papiyana and Acting Municipal Manager Apiwe Mkhangelwa paid tribute to Maceba, commending him for his dedication, humility and service to the community.

As Director of Integrated Planning and Economic Development, Maceba played a key role in the municipality’s planning and development programmes.

The municipality extended its condolences to the Maceba family, colleagues and all those who knew him.

Funeral arrangements announced by the municipality are as follows:

• Memorial Service: Date to be announced.
• Funeral Service: 3 July 2026 at his home in Beyele Village, Engcobo.

The municipality said its thoughts and prayers remain with the family during this difficult time.

“May his soul rest in peace,” the statement concluded.
