EFF names Zikhona Njoli as Enoch Mgijima mayoral candidate

The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) has named Zikhona Njoli as its mayoral candidate for Enoch Mgijima Local Municipality ahead of the 2026 local government elections.

Njoli is currently a member of the Eastern Cape Provincial Legislature and serves as the EFF’s deputy provincial secretary.

She has previous experience in local government, having served as a councillor in both Enoch Mgijima Local Municipality and Chris Hani District Municipality.

The party described Njoli, also known as “MaGaba”, as a “tried and tested warrior” who brings experience from both municipal and provincial government.

Njoli will lead the EFF’s campaign to increase its representation in the Enoch Mgijima council. The municipality’s next mayor will be elected by councillors following the local government elections.
