SASSA Confirms October 2026 Grant Payment Dates.

The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has confirmed the payment dates for social grants for October 2026.

According to SASSA, older persons’ grants will be paid from Friday, 2 October 2026, followed by disability grants from Monday, 5 October.

Payments for children’s grants will begin on Tuesday, 6 October.

SASSA has advised beneficiaries who have not received their grants by 7 October to urgently visit their local SASSA office. The agency said a grant may have been suspended if a beneficiary failed to complete a required review.

SASSA also reminded beneficiaries that a means test is used to assess income and assets against set thresholds to determine eligibility. According to the agency, the means test applies to all social grants except the Foster Child Grant.
