Vehicle destroyed in fire at Zola, Lesseyton outside Komani
A vehicle was destroyed in a fire at Zola in Lesseyton, outside Komani, on Tuesday evening, prompting an emergency response from firefighters.
The incident happened at about 18:20 on 19 May.
According to information received from the scene, emergency crews were called out after a vehicle caught alight in the Lesseyton area. The fire rapidly spread through the vehicle, with additional fire assistance later requested as the blaze intensified.
Enoch Mgijima fire services responded to the incident and worked to bring the flames under control.
No injuries were reported.
Images from the scene show the vehicle completely engulfed in flames, with large flames and thick smoke lighting up the night sky. Another image taken after firefighters arrived shows the vehicle extensively damaged, with most of the bodywork burnt out by the intense heat.
The incident occurred in Zola, Lesseyton outside Komani.
The cause of the fire has not yet been confirmed and no further information was immediately available by Wednesday morning.
Vehicle fires can spread rapidly within minutes, especially at night when visibility is reduced, often leaving little chance to save the vehicle before extensive damage occurs.
