16 Computers and WiFi Handed Over to Whittlesea School
A rural school in Whittlesea is celebrating a major upgrade, thanks to a joint effort between the Department of Social Development and the MTN Foundation.
Nkosemntu Motman Secondary School in Thambo Village now has access to 16 brand-new computers and WiFi connectivity, opening doors for learners to develop vital digital skills.
Acting Director-General of the Department of Social Development, Advocate Gugulethu Thimana, officiated the handover, highlighting the department’s commitment to bridging the digital divide.
“This initiative is about ensuring learners in rural areas have equal opportunities to succeed in a digital world,” Thimana said.
Sandy Godlwana, Acting Chief Director of Communication, echoed this sentiment.
“Empowering learners with digital skills is key to unlocking their potential and creating a brighter future,” she said.
She said the donation is set to transform the learning environment, providing learners with hands-on experience and access to a world of information.
“The MTN Foundation’s partnership is a testament to the power of collaboration in driving social change. This initiative is part of the Department’s broader efforts to promote digital inclusion and equip learners with the skills needed to thrive in the 21st century,” said Godlwana.
