Man Stabbed in Zola Village, Lesseyton, Police Confirm No Fatality

Komani, Eastern Cape – Police have confirmed that a man was stabbed during an incident in Zola Village, Lesseyton 1, on Tuesday morning, with no fatalities reported.

According to information received by Komani News, emergency services were alerted shortly before 10:00 after a male, estimated to be around 50 years old, was stabbed. An ambulance was dispatched to the scene to provide medical assistance.

Komani News contacted the South African Police Service (SAPS) for confirmation and further details. Police spokesperson Captain Namhla Mdleleni confirmed that the incident was reported to the police and that the victim survived the stabbing.

“Someone was stabbed, the matter was reported to the police. No fatality,” Captain Mdleleni confirmed.

At this stage, police have not released further details regarding the circumstances surrounding the stabbing, the extent of the victim’s injuries, or whether any arrests have been made. It is also not yet clear where the victim was transported for medical treatment or what led to the incident.

The stabbing adds to ongoing concerns about violent incidents within some communities in the Komani and Lesseyton areas, where residents have repeatedly raised calls for improved safety, quicker emergency response times, and visible policing.
