Komani residents have been warned not to pay any money to individuals claiming to be recruiting caregivers on behalf of Madeira Old Age Home.

The warning comes after messages and social media posts began circulating advertising Home-Based Care opportunities and claiming that successful applicants would be required to attend an induction at the facility.

The old age home warned that anyone collecting money or requesting payments while claiming to represent Madeira Old Age Home is doing so without authorisation.

The notice follows the circulation of messages that allegedly informed applicants that their induction would begin on 5 June 2026, instructing them to report to a staff member and submit personal documents, including copies of identification documents and CVs.

Madeira Old Age Home urged community members and prospective caregivers to exercise caution and not make any payments to individuals or organisations claiming to represent the institution unless such payments have been officially communicated and approved in writing by management.

Residents who are uncertain about any recruitment-related communication are encouraged to contact the management office directly for verification before providing personal information or making any payment.
