HIGH-RANKING HYPOCRISY: Official Caught Boozing Behind State Wheel
BUSTED: TOP EC OFFICIAL CAUGHT DRUNK IN STATE CAR!
EASTERN CAPE SHOCKER: The celebratory news of a massive pre-Festive Season drunk-driving blitz was overshadowed this weekend by the shocking arrest of a GOVERNMENT OFFICIAL, caught driving a state vehicle under the influence of alcohol!
The high-ranking officer was busted by Provincial Traffic on the N2 near Kei Cuttings. This outrageous betrayal happened near the very spot where a Department of Transport colleague was tragically killed just the day before. The Department is FUMING and has condemned the conduct in the strongest terms, reiterating: NO ONE IS ABOVE THE LAW!
109 BOOZERS BUSTED BY HERO COPS!
Despite the drama, the Provincial Traffic Department had a massive win, announcing the arrest of a staggering 109 drivers for driving drunk during a fierce three-day clean-up operation across the province (Friday, November 21, to Sunday, November 23, 2025).
The Department of Transport is rightly hailing the brave work of its Traffic Officers for delivering a powerful blow against reckless driving and potentially saving countless lives.
“Every one of these arrests represents a potentially prevented tragedy,” the Department stated. 109 skelms are now off the road thanks to the brave men and women of Provincial Traffic!
MEC NQATHA: CRACKDOWN CONTINUES
MEC for Transport, Hon. Xolile Nqatha, gave a HUGE thumbs up to the traffic cops, commending their zero-tolerance approach:
“Our officers have shown unwavering dedication to protecting lives. Their work this past weekend is exemplary,” the MEC said.
“Drunken driving is a danger to all – and we will not hesitate to act, regardless of who is behind the wheel.”
These high-impact operations are a key component of the Department’s ongoing Festive Season Road Safety Plan, aimed at ensuring the Eastern Cape avoids a holiday bloodbath.
