Clean Queenstown Marks Five Years of Community Service
Community organisation Clean Queenstown is celebrating its fifth anniversary after being established on 2 July 2021 with the goal of improving the appearance and environment of Komani.
The organisation said it was formed at a time when the town was facing what it described as severe neglect and that residents rallied behind the initiative to help bring about change in their community.
Over the past five years, Clean Queenstown says its work has gone beyond environmental clean-up projects, with partnerships helping it to contribute towards addressing issues such as hunger and youth unemployment in the area.
In a statement marking the milestone, the organisation thanked residents who supported its efforts over the years and reflected on the challenges faced during its journey, including the loss of some members and supporters.
Despite the difficulties, Clean Queenstown said the continued support and confidence shown by the community has strengthened its resolve to continue working towards its vision of a cleaner and more vibrant Komani.
The organisation says it remains committed to its long-term goal of building a cleaner town through community involvement and partnerships.
