Burst Pipe Disrupts Water Supply in Parts of Komani.
KOMANI – Residents in parts of Komani have been affected by an unplanned water supply interruption following a burst pipe in Derby Street.
Chris Hani District Municipality confirmed in a public notice issued on Wednesday, 14 October 2026, that water supply had been temporarily shut off to allow repair work to be carried out.
According to the municipality, the interruption affects portions of Victoria Road, Scalen Street and Derby Street.
The municipality said the temporary shutdown was necessary to enable repair teams to attend to the damaged pipe and restore the water supply.
However, no estimated time for the completion of repairs or restoration of water services was provided in the notice.
The municipality apologised to affected residents for the inconvenience and indicated that further updates would be communicated as the situation develops.
Residents experiencing water supply problems or requiring additional information can contact the municipality’s 24-hour Customer Call Centre on 0800 100 100.
It remains unclear when water supply will be fully restored to the affected areas.
