Komani, Eastern Cape – A swift and coordinated response by private security and police led to the arrest of a suspect and the recovery of stolen property following a business break-in at a cellular shop in Komani over the weekend.

According to information received, the break-in occurred during the early hours of Sunday morning. At approximately 09:00, security services were alerted to the incident, prompting an immediate investigation.

Specialised units were deployed, and informants were tasked to assist with gathering intelligence related to the crime. Within hours, actionable information was received, leading investigators to a residential address in Komani.

At around 10:30, a suspect was located and arrested at his home. During a search of the premises, a significant quantity of stolen cellular devices was discovered concealed in the roof of the house. Further follow-up operations led to additional recoveries at another nearby residence.

In total, the following items were recovered during the operation:

The estimated value of the recovered items is approximately R80,000.
